Funny how Ensen prefers to play with everything but his own toys these days. Most recently he found out how entertaining the laundry basket can be. Here he is hamming it up for the camera as usual and even chased Jabbey out of the basket so he could take over.
As much as our cats Jabbey (black/white boy) and Tikki (brown/grey girl) love each other, they enjoy a good ‘ol Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) style “cat fight” every now and then…without the gloves. Check out Tikki’s eyes in the photo above. No PhotoShop necessary here. This is an original photo taken with our digital camera. That must be pure adrenaline coming out of her eyes in her effort to take Jabbey down. Crazy! Hmmm…I didn’t realize Lilly (the frog) and Snowman are fans of cat fighting.
Out cat Jabbey loves the water. So when it comes to baths (like the one he got this past weekend), he’s more than happy to sit in the tub and let us wash him down. When we first started bathing him, we’d dry him as best we could with a towel, then let him do the rest. But these day’s he’s gotten to be a lot more “high maintenance” and prefers that we use the blow dryer so he doesn’t have to work so hard. As celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Antin (fromBravo’s hit show Blowout) always said, “It’s all about great hair.” I guess Jabbey agrees.
For those of you who know Jabbey, you know he’s a really big cat. Big enough that he actually gets himself stuck in our little washroom. OK, not really a washroom…more like a closet that only contains our stacked washer and dryer. We’re not really sure what goes through Jabbey’s mind when he squeezes his body between the washing machine and door because he’s gotten stuck so many times before. And something tells me that this won’t be his last time.
If our cat Jabbey ever became President of the United States of America, I imagine his headshot might look something like this. What a handsome cat at age six!
Here is Ensen dressed up in his first Halloween costume. And it just so happened that Uncle Kevin had the perfect fishing pole!
Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without dressing up the dogs. Rusty is sporting a lobster costume and Lucky is ready for take off in his astronaut costume.
It never fails. Whenever someone meets Jabbey for the first time, they can’t get over how big he is. And after the initial shock settles in, we’re told that he’s the biggest cat they’ve ever seen, or how he looks like Garfield, or we’re even asked if he’s pregnant. Seeing peoples reactions to him never gets old. I probably would react the same way if I didn’t see him everyday. But we’re so lucky and blessed to have him in our lives. He’s a wonderful cat and he’s not fat, he’s just filled to the gills with love. Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering, he weighs 20 lbs.
I’ve noticed that our girl cat Tikki has been very thirsty lately. I caught her licking the faucet in our bathroom. So I decided to turn the faucet on to a slow drip, and see what happens. It didn’t take long for her to take a sip. Check out the video below. She actually drinks more than just a sip!
Our cats Jabbey and Tikki have been a part of the family for many years. This is my first attempt at creating a short “movie” of them using the iMovie software on our iMac.
Did I mention we have two cats? Tikki (female on the left) and Jabbey (the big black/white boy on the right) have been a part of the family for years. Kelly and I both think they are dogs in “cat clothing.” Tikki is quite the playful hunter, while Jabbey loves to eat and lounge around the house. Both are 100% adorable. We’ll be sharing more about them as this blog matures.
