Hurricane, tsunami warning…all in a day’s work!

It was a busy morning at the office as we prepared to issue a press release letting travel media across the country know Hurricane Flossie has left the islands. As anticipated, Flossie was downgraded to a tropical storm overnight and dissipated by this afternoon without really doing much to Hawaii’s Big Island. Travelers to Hawaii have nothing to worry about, as it’s business as usual on the Big Island and across the state.

Just when we thought everything was fine and dandy, mother nature decides to send Peru a 7.9 earthquake which resulted in a tsunami warning for the Hawaiian Islands. Thankfully, by late this afternoon, that warning was cancelled and everyone on the HVCB public relations team should be able to sleep peacefully tonight.

All in a day’s work…
