You’re probably wondering what the PRWorks Alumni Association is all about. Even if you’re not, I’m going to tell you anyway…sorry! PRWorks is where my career in public relations started back in 1999 after I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Deborah Sharkey, who I worked with at UH, hired me and the rest is history. It was a smaller agency with a lot of good people in there.
There is no such thing as PRWorks today…it went upside down a few years ago…but a group of us have managed to keep in touch over the years and we get together every now and then to reminisce about the old days…notice the word “good” was left out…actually it wasn’t that bad. Such was the case this past Saturday when we gathered at Sandy Christensen’s house for an awesome BBQ.
A great time was had by all who came…about half of the usual group…and it’s wonderful that we’ve all remained friends over the years. Everyone has grown up and most of us now have families. It was also the first time they all got to meet Ensen. Here’s a bunch of pictures to memorialize the day.
From left: Danika Christensen meets Ensen. Gale Mejia and her daughter Abigail. Keld Christensen (Sandy’s husband) with Ensen and me. Aunty Sandy loved and Ensen bonding.
From left: Deborah Sharkey and the “Sharkville” family were there. The Valdez family (Katrina, Oren, and Tino).
