We conquered Kona!

After looking at a calender and realizing that my days at home with Ensen were numbered, I told Nate that we better fly to Kona sooner than later. So after a quick search online, our flight was booked. We only had a few days to put everything together. Luckily, Kona Grandma bought supplies ahead of time so we didn’t need to pack the world.

We were nervous and anxious to see how Ensen would react to flying. To our surprise, he did great! He watched the rain glide off the window as we prepared for take off. And the next thing we knew we were up in the air and he was fast asleep. I held him the entire flight, and before we knew it, we had landed.

Ensen was so happy to see Kona Grandpa and Grandma. And it was obvious that they were equally happy to see him.

After a good nights rest, we took Ensen to Kailua Town. Our first stop was Kmart to pick up an umbrella stroller. I wasn’t sure if he’d fit, but decided to try it anyway. It really came in handy. Carrying 15 lbs for more than 10 minutes ends up feeling like 50 lbs!

We also went to Waikoloa and Pine Tree Cafe. I told Nate, no matter what, I had to have their Korean chicken. Best Korean chicken ever! Make sure you try it the next time you’re in Kona.

After a full day of cruising the town, it was bath time for Ensen (thanks to Aunty Erin for taking this adorable picture). It was Ensen’s first “real” kitchen sink bath. No fancy tubs or thermometers. And as always he enjoyed himself. I think bath time is his favorite time of the day.

We were in Kona for 3 days and 3 nights and it went by so fast. A fun time was had by all and we can’t wait until we fly up again. Who knows, maybe next time we’ll be brave and make our way out to Hilo!

Aunty Erin…that’s one of the cutest pictures of Ensen ever…looks like he’s enjoying his bath immensely.

Nathan and that darn Hawaii Islanders helmet. I hope he left that thing back in Kona. It was fun though. I do think we have bad luck with large appliances breaking while we’re there…mom and dad must do it intentionally cause they have all the help there. =)
