Artists Kristie Fujiyama Kosmides and Carl Lindstrom with Wyland Waikiki General Manager Robin Graf at 2x2 Art on the Avenue this past Friday.

Even a guy like me appreciates art every now and then, especially when it’s the work of two local artists. Through the end of the week, The Wyland Waikiki is displaying the awesome art of Kristie Fujiyama Kosmide and Carl Lindstrom. The showing features abstract paintings by Kristie and photographic art of Carl, both emerging artists in the Los Angeles art scene.

Kosmides is regarded for her ethereal abstract works, while Lindstrom is known for his award-winning photography and photographic installations. Both artists tout Hawaii ties with Kosmides working/producing pieces from both her studio in Hilo and Los Angeles and Lindstrom being a product of the art program at the University of Hawaii.

That blue abstract painting in your photo looks beautiful. Too bad I’m nowhere near Waikiki; I’d love to check out the art scene!
